2019 Subaru Legacy Review

The 2019 Subaru Legacy has a few things going for it that not every midsize car offers, and we at Peacock Subaru want to share them with you! In this car review, we'll give you an in-depth look into the workings of this sedan.

From performance to cabin comfort, we'll cover it all, so you can decide if the 2019 Legacy is right for your drive in Hardeeville, Bluffton, or Hilton Head Island. Read on and see what you think!

2019 Legacy: An Inviting Interior

The Legacy cabin is attractive and well-built, but it's most remarkable for the passenger space it provides. With legroom measuring nearly 43 inches in the front row and roughly 38 inches in the second row, you'll have room to keep your legs limber and lithe throughout the cabin.

Laminated glass and aerodynamic side mirrors contribute to the cabin's lack of noise, so you can hear your music clearly or drive in peaceful silence. The Subaru STARLINK™ infotainment system includes standard Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™, so you can access your full music library from your smartphone.

Optional leather upholstery really heightens the feel of luxury in the cabin. Choose from shades like Warm Ivory, Slate Black, and Titanium Gray and bring some suave style to your daily drive!

All-Star Sedan Performance Specs

Most trim levels of the Subaru Legacy run on a 2.5-liter BOXER® 4-cylinder engine. With 175 horsepower and 174 lb-ft of torque, it provides more than enough oomph to handle most driving situations with ease. Plus, with an EPA-estimated 25 city and 34 highway MPG, you'll be in for an efficient drive.

The range-topping Legacy 3.6R Limited, however, uses a 3.6-liter BOXER® 6-cylinder. This engine delivers the get-up-and-go you need, with 256 horsepower and 247 lb-ft of torque on tap.

Of course, this wouldn't be a Subaru without symmetrical all-wheel drive (AWD). Its low center of gravity and optimal weight distribution improve handling. Plus, with power delivered to all four wheels, you'll be in for a more tractive driving experience.

Driver Assistance for Your Security

If you needed another reason to make the 2019 Legacy your family sedan, the newly standard EyeSight® driver-assistance suite may just be it. It's been found to reduce rear-end crashes with injuries by up to 85 percent,1 and it includes quite a lineup of features:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control, to help you keep a preset distance from the car ahead.
  • Lane Keeping Assist, to warn you and apply corrective steering if you start to drift from your lane.
  • Pre-Collision Braking, to help apply the brakes when an imminent frontal collision is detected.
